Benjamin the Traveling Bear spent the weekend with the Morton family. Benjamin is a puppet from Charlie's class that gets to go home for the weekend with one of the students. Charlie and Jackson were very excited to entertain Benjamin and show him all the exciting things that the Morton household had to offer.

All the blueberry picking and pancake eating made the boys ready for a little pool time. After bathing suits and sunscreen were applied it was discovered that Benjamin had forgotten his bathing suit so he had to be satisfied with hanging out at home with Gari.

After the movie, Joe discovered a turtle that had ventured onto the road and due to the curb size he was not able to get off. Joe turned the car around and the boys enjoyed having "Slayder" the slider turtle as a hitchhiker until they could find a pond nearby for him to enjoy.

Joe wanted to make sure that Benjamin could share with Charlie's class how many blueberries he had on his bushes this year, so Charlie, Jackson and Benjamin went to pick blueberries first thing on Saturday morning. The reward for all the hard work was fresh blueberry pancakes.

After swimming Charlie and Jackson thought that Benjamin needed some fun time too and decided to go to the theater to watch Kung Fu Panda 2. Benjamin was very good during the movie and didn't say a peep, this can not be said for Charlie.
Benjamin's weekend was wrapped up with trip to the pharmacy to visit me at work and a trip to church with the boys where Jackson made sure that he knew all about the story of David and Goliath. Benjamin even got to learn a couple of interesting facts: Charlie eating too many blueberries is not good for his digestive tract, Jackson thinks that a turtle would be a great pet, and I think that turtles carry salmonella.
