Marathon Madness

In July of last year, I decided that I would attempt to run a marathon. Of course to be inspired to run 26.2 miles, a destination marathon was a lot more enticing. I chose Disney because it was a flat course, warm climate in January, and the boys would have a blast at the parks. After running this I can say that all of these criteria came true except the climate. To run the Disney marathon you have to be on the commuting bus from the resort by 4am to make to the starting line by 5am. Due to the large number of participates, 17,000 for the marathon, I was advised to get to the buses early, which meant 3am. At 3am even Florida is cold, low 30's to be more descriptive. I did little research on the expected climate and foolishly brought sleeveless running shirt and shorts for the big event. Needless to say I could not feel my feet till mile 10. With all this said, overall the run was an adventure and immediately following completion I proclaimed, "I will never do this again!!"
Once back at the hotel, warmed by a shower so hot it could of peeled my skin back, I told Joe, "Maybe I will do another one, it wasn't so bad." Joe just shook his head and said, "I could of called that one!"
